We’re excited to announce that our unit will soon be implementing Dispatch, a new patient care communication system designed to enhance our responsiveness, save our team time, and streamline patient requests. Dispatch provides patients with a user-friendly tablet interface at their bedside, allowing them to easily communicate their needs directly to you on your phones.

This implementation represents our commitment to improving both patient experience and workflow efficiency. Through Dispatch, patients will be able to make specific care requests using simple, clear options, which will be immediately relayed to the appropriate staff member's device. This system will help us prioritize patient needs more effectively while reducing unnecessary room entries, ensuring all requests are handled, and allowing for better time management.

In the coming weeks, we'll be working with the Dispatch team to provide comprehensive training, support, and resources to ensure everyone is comfortable with the new system before it goes live.

As a starting point, we recommend everyone familiarize yourselves with Dispatch by reviewing the curated guides for your role here:

Resource & Training Guide for RNs and PCTs

Resource & Training Guide for PSS / Unit Secretary Staff

Resource & Training Guide for Charge Nurses and Unit Managers

This change will help us deliver even better care to our patients while making your daily workflows more efficient.

Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns. Your input is valuable as we prepare for this exciting improvement to our unit's operations.
