Dispatch is a tablet-based communication tool for patients to interact with their treatment team at their bedside.
Dispatch doesn't replace the nurse call button/light. Nonetheless, it can handle most patient requests effectively. Dispatch minimizes unnecessary trips and optimizes task allocation for caregivers assisting patients. Additionally, it provides a convenient way to order meals and request Environmental Services (EVS).
Dispatch enables medical staff to pre-assess patient needs before entering the room, leading to faster response times and relieving the treatment team's workload. Dispatch increases patient language accessibility by allowing patients to communicate using their primary language and translating those requests to English for staff.
The patient uses Dispatch on a bedside tablet to select preset needs like "Restroom" or "Too Cold," sending an alert to team members' phones. They can respond through their phones or a tablet at the nurses' station to acknowledge the request and inform the patient about their arrival.
