We are excited to introduce a new feature in the Dispatch app that allows staff to sign into their room assignments by simply selecting their name from a dropdown menu. This enhancement aims to streamline the shift start process, ensuring that room assignments are updated dynamically and accurately.
Previously, staff had to manually select their room assignments when logging into the Dispatch app. Not only was this repetitive and an extra step in busy schedules, we couldn’t guarantee accuracy of room assignments if they were to change throughout the day.
With the new update, staff can now simply choose their name from a dropdown menu, and their room assignments will be automatically updated based on the latest information from Epic. This eliminates the need for manual selection, simplifies the process of starting your shift on Dispatch, and reduces the potential for errors.

This update simplifies the login process for staff, saving valuable time at the start of each shift and ensuring that room assignments are always current and accurate. By linking assignments to Epic, we ensure that any changes are immediately reflected, enhancing efficiency and improving patient care.
What do I do if my name doesn’t show up in the list?
This will sometimes happen when someone floats to a unit for the first time.
If your name doesn’t show up you can press “Can’t Find My Name” and select rooms manually

What happens if the room assignments don’t match Epic?
It may take up to five minutes for changes in Epic to be reflected in the Dispatch app.
